This kit is a like a history lesson in what is what like to be a pro drummer in the 50's & 60's. The 12" & the 20" are both 1958 mahogany shell drums, the bass drum still has the original calfskins. We think the BD legs were an upgrade because this kit probably was sold with clip on legs. If you were a pro you needed that upgrade. The owner definitely had great taste because he picked out the matching Gene Krupa Solid shell Radio King snare to round out his kit. The 14x14" floor tom is maple and was added in 1966. The color is brighter than the faded black diamond pearl on the kick & tom. This kit is in great shape consider it was put through the pace's night after night. This kit also includes Humes & Berg fiber cases also from same era. Such a nice kit & interesting history!
