According to the Gretsch catalog of the time this 22x14" BD 9x13 TT, 16FT 5x14" SN configuration was known as the Name Band outfit. There are some interesting anomalies with this kit. The bass drum is a three-ply shell painted silver which was uncommon but still done in the late 50's, probably 1959. In 1960 Gretsch changed from 3 ply drums to 6-ply drums painted silver, which the rest of the drums are. There is a little damage on the bearing edge of the BD and a slight crack in the ply, nothing structural. The rest of the kit is pretty much immaculate for its age. The seams are tight the mufflers all intact and of course most importantly it has that "Great Gretsch Sound!!"
